A handcrafted hardwood timber boat such as this, new, rarely comes onto the market. This Ian Taylor-built vessel is a classic, and is now offered for sale .
The hull has been carvel built with selected full-length spotted gum planking, copper fastenings, cotton and oakum caulking, and a huon pine transom, making it beautiful, strong and durable.
The marine ply decks are glass- and epoxy- sheathed, adding to the vessel’s strength.
The roomy open cockpit has a teak-laid deck over glass and epoxy.
A superb solid teak cabin, lined with huon pine and gusseted with beautiful teatree knees, enables excellent visibility to the helm while providing the galley and saloon living areas.
Engine beds and stern gear, (rudder, bearing, tube, and gland), are in place.
The galley is currently under construction, and will feature a specially made copper sink and huon pine benchtops.
The Saloon table setting forms a berth, and there is a v-berth and separate head with holding tank down below.
Fuel and water tanks will also be in place making the vessel launch-ready.
A brand new 90 hp 4.4 litre Perkins engine and ZF 63, 1.5:1 ratio gearbox are ready to be installed.

Ian is recognized in his trade as one of the last traditional hardwood boat builders on the East Coast of Australia. This style of boat has been Ian's signature boat since the mid 1960s, when he began building boats with Billie Holmes on Sydney Harbour.
